Idea/suggestion for CF quests and new areas:

Ok, not like any of these ideas really ever get much attention or ever show up in the game, but i'm bored.

I was reading some journals of Ultima online Beta testers and Everquest and such earlier, and it brought up a few ideas for cf. Things in CF get pretty monotonous (go ahead, tell me then don't play, after that you can tell me "America, love it or leave it"), quite frankly. Day in, Day out, it's usually the same old shit. I was reading some stuff about a group getting together and finding some old castle deep in the wilderness that had been taken over by orcs. They took the castle back, with heavy losses. They then petitioned the impelementers for a new guild with that castle as their home, and received approval with special keys for guildmembers and so on.

Now, why not have this sort of thing on cf? Everything is INCREDIBLY cabal oriented. I think it would be cool to have a number of smaller groups that don't receive major cabal powers, but have maybe one or two powers that are the equivalent of quest skills. Small areas could be coded for such events, and maybe in the long run a lot of these little bands of outlaw minor cabal people would pop up, increasing the diversity of non-cabal'd people. I appreciate all the work the imms put in, but I just have to be truthful about something. New areas (except the ones where a lot of work are put in, ie. Organia, Hell, Darsylon, etc...) are generally kind of novel for a day or so, then back to your old routine. As far as new quests, they're sort of interesting, but mostly just cause they break the routine. Usually it's hard to be a fairly big part of them because of selective playing times, or they're done over a really long period and it's hard to stay into it. If you try to jump in, usually it's just kind of confusing and filled with long vague conversations with NPCs. I don't know, this hasn't been very clear, I think i'd just like some more battle heavy war type quests, and perhaps some diversication in what has been the same old same old for the last 5 years. The last two major points of interest I remember were the splitting of clerics/introduction of empowerment and the changing of how cabals were raided. Mmm, oh yeah, and the introduction of Empire/Sylvans. All of those happened quite a while ago. All these revamps of classes are nice, but they aren't bringing any titanic change about. I'd much rather have the time spent on a slew of little quests for various lvls of player and so on. Conjurers were a nice attempt... but were just sickly overpowered, boring to play for most people, and eventually settled into some strange niche which is still often complained about. The only revamp that really brought me back into the game was the warrior one, which quite frankly is one of the best improvements/point of interest a class has ever received, kudos to which ever Imm did that one. Ok the, i'll finish things off with some of those lame player suggestions.

Just a few ideas for some small questish minor cabals.

-Group of Sylvanish people (Druids/Rangers only) who believe sylvans have become impure. Completely shun cities alltogether, moderately violent, but only when provoked or against arch enemies (same basic sylvan criteria). Special skills, improved ranger staff skill and wilderness familiarity.

-Group of Outlaw type people. Care nothing for chaos, only money and clothes. Have to pay heavy tithes to remain, but a well equipped protected camp. Special Skills, pickpocket.. the ability to steal gold from players and mobs, and maybe the ability to unlock manacles.

-Shadowish throwback. This would be the most interesting idea. Could go a number of ways to try and fix why Shadow didn't work in the mud environment. Perhaps a Yakuza sort of gang, with a number of assassins given special hidden abilities to kick the crap out of and find other people. Drawbacks to being one of the assassins? You must dress appropriately, as in don't wear shit that is too good. No unnecessary violence, brings unwanted attention. Like the old shadow, they have visible and non visible members. Ok, you all get the idea.

Ok, I guess I really just felt like killing some time until dinner, I think this would be all really cool, but isn't going to happen. I'm just going to sit here and whine about something that is free.

ps. Immortals, you all do a great job.

psps. I failed at this sort of thing before, but I was sixteen. If y'all think it's a good idea, but don't have enough people willing to work on it, reply with a request for my e-mail (I only have one which I prefer not to give out, quick free accounts I rarely end up checking). I'd be willing to work on some quest concept, write a few small areas for the quests, and so on.
