I disagree. Dying of age death sucks. It's even worse because the characters that die of age death are, by nature, the same ones that players pour the most effort and care into. Worse still, it can come virtually without any warning (You can die an age death while your char is still "middle-aged" and the years don't reflect a greater age). Personally, I don't care about my character until he's lived at least 350 hours, and right about then I get a little nervous because I never had a character that lived past 400 hours before dying of old age (might have just been unlucky). It is especially frustrating when you watch all those rise-and-flame types delete "when they've done what they came to do and lost interest in the character". I interpret this to mean "Haven't built up a roleplaying base to support the character and make it interesting." Honestly, I can not think of a single character that died of old age that I did not feel would have added even more to the game had age not been a factor. Deletions and con deaths (and proactive immortal action) weed out the horders/no-RP-PKers/etc. enough. Age death tends to affect the characters that add the most to CF. Ugh. So, this is all to say, when you have a character that suddenly dies of age, it will be one that you care very much about, and you'll have a whole hour to be a ghost and whine and have people give your their condolences, and, as strange as it makes me sound, the whole experience is very depressing and frustrating, so I usually delete before age death. But personally, I wish there was no age death at all.
