> Liches are overpowered, in this i mean they have the potential for a good player to become virtually unkillable. (A shit player can die just easily as a lich compared to a non-lich.) > The problem with when a decent player plays a lich and then plays it the right way. They could simply choose to be highly aggressive and take huge risks (Hvitlok). But if they do take only calculated risks, then they simply do not die. This affects the game in that people just quit out, like the newbie said. Personally unless i wasnt fussed about dieing i wouldnt fight him, why take a risk with your character when there is a zero percent chance of killing him. Even a 10% chance could be worth the risk. Zorszaul is the example, in his case he has built up such a phylact selection, plus 1 particular hell item he has adds to that in a big way. Which is rumoured to be able to restore him once, if he was to die (then it would disappear). Not to mention blasting acid destroying all your eq. He has killed enough warriors so that he can make his zombies bash and trip, so deadily, that makes it hard for ragers to tag team him. He cant be tripped, ever, not even earthbind works. Wraithform phylacts last 150+ hours, you wont get a lucky bash. Some phylacts give save spell like -70, plus his eq, your spells will likely fail. Dont forget he likely can fix up any vulnerabilities into resistances. The shit you can get from phylacts is insane, communes are no exception, i personally have been withered by him, he didnt even need to, he likes to use a bit of style. The sum of it is, he doesnt even use full resistances when he doesnt need too, then does silly things in the fight like chromatic just because it doesnt even matter. > In my opinion 1 of 2 things should occur. > 1) Reduce the power of liches, exchange a bit of defensive for a bit offensive. A overpowered offensive will only go so far. But a overpowered defensive with a decent offensive is unkillable. > 2) Allow regular necromances the option to choose to go to hero as a mortal (before they see the quest of course). Then at hero allow their disruption to work on liches.
> The potential of his char is insane, with time for full preparation and you put him in a no-exit cursed room with a completly random selection of ten current heros you get these days. I would put my money on him winning and killing them all. The sting of it is, even if they were just about to kill him, its likely he can use a phylact to get him out, like he did with dhaevor. (which he didnt need to, just showing the world he has plenty of them)
