What would I do in such a situation (and Zorsaul did it once with me, Sadrach) is sleep him and spell him up all the way. Give him a chance to run though. The death ain't usefull at all. Just con loss and we all hate that. But a good scare can do a lot to people and help them learn how to evade being easy meat. I know, due certain RP, that you can't "avoid" them. But just scare them. Have them run for their life. I know that he, if he comes to understand what happened, will more likely appreciate it AND foremost, you never stepped out of your RP.

Their ain't no shame in not finnishing the job.
