A thief can hide right after battle, while an assassin cannot. An assassin can hide in the forrest while a thief cannot, and that is why thieves cannot see assassin's sometimes as well.

- Actually, if an assassin is hidden when he enters there, he will remain hidden. He just cant go from visible to hidden while there. NT SB 15:48:05 10/3/2000 (0)
