I know the Code CF uses is supposed to be copy righted and all but still I had a thought.
What if an inquiry was made to purchase it?
Find out how much it was and pool money from the player base and we could then purchase the Code from Diku.
Keep an exact percentage for the initial investment of the Players/Imm's and apply any benifit in equal proportion to that persons investment percentage.

By benifit I mean profit.
Once the Copy right was owned then CF Paraphanalia could be produced and sold, Hats T-Shirts (I know about the shirts from way back), We could have our own books and Cartoons featuring our favorite hero's and villians!
The game would remain free to play but the orginal investors could build capitol, power and fame and use this success to lay waste to huge swaths of farm la.....Party, yeah thats the ticket Party with the dough.
