> I felt the need to post something about this. More often than not when someone deletes/con-dies/croaks they mention how they wanted more ImmteractionsTM in their lifetime. I agree, interacting with an Immortal is a lot of fun and a true challenge at times, and also a great way to accomplish whatever goals you've set out.

> Now, my problem is this... We all get a lot of interaction with Immortals, whether we think so or not. The Immortals actively watch the mortal playerbase. Isn't that a kind of interaction? Think of it this way. A conversation isn't a conversation unless two people, or more, are talking, right? That's called a dialogue. But someone that listens to another's monologue is still gaining information, and perhaps in a way communicating back... reacting with laughter, a frown, a smile, etc. If an Immortal swoops down what are they gonna do, ask you about the weather? Wonder how your life is? They don't need to know that. They're watching a) for breach of rules, b) if you're consistently RPing, c) if they have the ability [and desire] to help you achieve that goal. (Did I miss any? :P I'm sure.)

> Immortals can more accurately find out your goals by not interacting with you. If they watch you interacting with someone else, the other may say something like... "What do you wish to accomplish in your lifetime?" Bam, right there your reaction to that question is taken as serious by that person as it is by the Immortal watching [See: consistent RPing above].

> So basically... When I played Zepachu I had one official[*] interaction with an Immortal. This was during that time where the MUD was lagging pretty bad and this particular Immortal uncloaked, recloaked, and uncloaked their presence. I'm thinking they got caught in lag and hit the command again thinking the first one didn't go through. Then a third time to reveal themselves, as was originally intended. After which "*Imms name here* now follows you." I simply asked how I could serve it. It replied (basically) to just carry on and do what I was doing. So... I did. Did anything come of it? I dunno, maybe a note tacked onto my character, maybe nothing. Whatever the case may be, even if IMMs don't reveal themselves, they are still watching and for all intents and purposes are learning about you through your interactions with others, even moreso than they would directly. I'm sure the IMMs will agree that if you want to get somewhere you need to roleplay 100% of the time. Further down the line your slip ups will be sometimes pointed out, but at least you'll have some history that you can fall back on... and perhaps recover from it. A newbie that slips up is as good as dead.

> If the IMMs only judged on interactions they personally had with you, there would be no sense of RP in the Fields. Even the most stellar RPers would relax and then snap back into their personalities once an Immortal appeared. This, obviously, would reduce the quality of RPing. The Immstaff has tried to instill a sense of "Big Brother is watching" in us players... but it seems some people just don't seem to get it.

> Upset you didn't get that tattoo? Angry you didn't get that special form? Pissed you didn't get a special nifty title?

> Don't be. Play to please yourself, not someone else. Real life is also a game and the same advice applies.
