I did ALL of the tanking up to about 40 with Imbrogno, and I was often with at least one of the better tanks(ie warrior or assassin). I can't remember not tanking until going to Shadar Logoth and I even did some of the tanking there unless I could get a conjurer or paladin in the group. I went from 28th to 37th or so in Drow City, doing every ounce of the tanking and killing all three sets of students(warriors, clerics, mages). Sanc, giant resist, protection, and cure crit is great for a shaman, especially if he has parry and shield block mastered. I think I had a hammer pendant for much of that so that helped. I would think that with the number of conjurers out there healers would be a much wanted groumate(healing sleep does good things for conjure time).
