It doesn't really matter if you like that nature screws with magic. It doesn't really matter if you think Thera should work that way. Thera does work that way. > There may be a good explination for the war but I have never seen one. The "Magic will replace nature" thing caused a great multi-participative "That is retarded!" in some circles. IMHO, anyone who thinks it's retarded lacks some imagination. I'll continue. > I quickly tired of the cookie cutter masters who say "Nature is bad, magic is good". Considering everything from resperation to bodily excretion is a proccess of nature. Is magic going to replace mitosis? It could, in theory. Will it in the scope of play in CF? Probably it won't. As a (somewhat poor) parallel think childbirth. Imagine you live in ancient times. Babies are made and get born in one way, period. Now compare that to modern times after the influence of modern science (not magic, but in some ways parallels can be drawn). You've got your babies being born by C-section, surrogate births, artificial insemination, cloning, and all kinds of wacky stuff going on. Has that replaced the natural process? Well, no. But it's sure allowed for some pretty radical change in what once would have been a pretty immutable natural process just the last 100 years. Of course, there may be no mitosis occuring at any point in Thera.. Maybe invisible magic faeries perform incantations that replace its function. To review: As a Master, you say: Magic is one of the most important things in my life. Something messes with that. You don't get to pick whether or not it does. As far as your character is concerned, it does. Now, given that, how can the friction be forced on you?
