Is it harder to learn the ropes today than it was 3 years ago? My answer is yes. The increase in classes, the reduction in armor's value, the requirement for damage reduction, the new lagging styles, warrior specializations, new assassins, a solid imm adherance to game balance, and on and on. This game from a pk standpoint is more complex by a greater degree than even two years ago. What is the learning rate for pk capable players with todays more complex environment, and how much time are you willing to expend to become an elite pk'er? My belief is that it takes a hell of a lot longer for a newbie to learn the ropes.

I nearly beat glanduin as a newbie when he was rank 48 and I was 45. (i took 3 years off, so I'm still a newbie). I'd need three doo dads at least as a noncaballed today to beat a high ranking rager. Sure aren't that many dwarves in ragers these day's are there?

For me personally, I just don't have the time to learn to be good. Either from a roleplay or a pk aspect :). If I can make average one of these years, I will be okay. I am, however one of the better survivors in thera. *Splewt*
