hide/sneak + Spell evasion (area spell dodge),

blackjack + discern spell (tells what spells/supps/powers affect the target)

critical hit when you can't circle stab, or when flee/knife isn't possible. Also when enemy is resisted up the ass

If you DO go with defender, pick something without any spell vulns. If you have any vulns, you're going to get raped by invokers and conjies, and if you're felar, you'll be raped by ANY Master. In my opinion, the best choice for a defender is a storm warrior pole/hand, whip, or mace. Storm is immune water, resist lightning, and no vulns (at least none that I'm aware of).

Berserker thieves can be tough. Bloodthirst is extremely limited in usefullness since thieves generally don't make very good tanks. It took an 11 point vitality quest and a con-death for me to figure that out *snicker* Berserker thief does have it's benefits, though. Namely trophy and deathblow. Trophy a Master's corpse for a big boost in hit, dam, hp, and extra str & dex, then deathblow on your backstab and dual backstab and mages can die very quickly. I have many fond memories of insta-killing people with a single backstab. Even some with a normal backstab on morons who thought it was better to gear for mana than hp. All-in all, though, a scout is the best choice for a thief rager if it's your first rager thief, which this obviously is. It's the easiest, and it'll let you get used to things a bit. If you want a bigger challange, berserker, and if you want the biggest challenge, defender. My two cents.
