Not really. You will learn quickly what to do in different situations. By trial and error.

Well you have plenty of choices.
Pick one of polearm, h2h, whip, sword.
Polearm - good defense.
Sword - good defense/offence.
H2h - good for fleeing.
Whip - very good for pkilling/fleeing from pk.

It is called disembowel.
Yes it is worth perfecting.
Not much pk use but had many advanteges doing it with mobs.
1) Can finish mob off instantly.
2) Even if it does not kill, it does very good damage. Misses sometimes though (depends on your hitroll). And just 2 hour lag.
3) Increases your luck.
