The assassin in question lost some good assassin skills in the process. . .the end result being something that doesn't seem all that whoopass. Sylvan shamans are pretty whoopass.

That said (having both played an S.S. back when Sylvan just plain took shamans/warriors/thieves and numerous characters that went up against S.S.'s since) they're not unbeatable. The only incredibly scary thing about them, imho, is that they can summon you to five other Sylvans who love them some ganging action.
