I could very well be wrong, but I have a feeling that atleast staff is quite easy to parry. The extra claw attacks with two handed weapons make them look like the choice for a felar, but there are many drawbacks. First of all, backfist with claws if really nice, as well as tiger claw, both require a free hand. Sword parries also very well, the difference between sword and staff is not that much. There are situations you really want to wear a shield, the added defence gives you more time to get kot and kan off, after which you can simply remove the shield. Staff is ofcourse great against gnomes and porcupines (ouch), but imho sword is usually the more useful choice. I think Takashimi has posted somthing about the subject, so search wouldn't propably hurt (also his logs speak for themselves).

On a side note, don't ever count on strangling the axe/mace wielding warrior or anti-paladin.

Disclaimer: This is all more or less speculative.
