Something in the Paladin code about not accepting aid in battle against equal numbers might have been called for. Not sure how many times i died to Balrahd and Yoesch in balator (it was a lot, though i admit balrahd would have killed me alone as well most likely, but i digress).

That's actually not a bad idea. Email it to the Imms, Zruulg. It'd be a pain in the ass to play a paladin (I still bear CF scars from my last knight), of course, but still, it's not a bad idea.
