I use TeraTerm Pro on my Windows machine and telnet to a Solaris workstation, then from there to CF. When I go directly from my home machine to CF, the terminal emulation is wiggy. Backspace not only erases what I've typed, but also the stats line.

If you're already on a UNIX platform, rxvt is okay. Basicaly a lighter-weight version of xterm with ansi color support.
