It was changed not because of practice, but because of people being transed to the realm of the dead and left there, only to cast on themselves to die and get back out. I used to do it all the time when ShittyHandjobman stuck me there.

The way the system is now if you cast certain effects upon yourself you actually loose skill points. (Ex. You are fighting some mobs communing "com flamestrike 2." Another walks in and suddenly you are the second one in the room, you get hit and loose A Lot of skill points.) I understand that this sort of thing was implemented to stop people from delibertly casting such things on themselves to practice. I agree that you shouldn't be able to flamestrike yourself and gain anything from it. But the current system is a bit to harsh.

> I know a lot of people will say that you should not use an open "cast blah 2." but instead use a "cast blah battelment guard" etc. But I think that hurts people who do not use clients. You should not be able to loose skill points because of an interface problem with the game. I.C. I would never make the mistake of flamestriking myself instead of the mob.

> I propose that similar skills the immortals do not want us to learn upon ourselves should just not be able to be targeted upon ourselves, only others.
