Pikel was far along before anyone realized his name was based on a character from a book. He was an established character, and he stood out as a character, due to exceptional roleplay. Do I agree with that? Well, yes. He's a worthwhile character, and brings a lot to Thera. At first I was upset that such a name got past the IMM's. But hey, they're mortal immortals, and make mistakes. I think they did the right thing in allowing him to keep it. Mainly, I think they take things on a case by case basis.
