It wouldn't make sense for the village to have such titles. They are not really an organized society with a cast system. Also it would ruin alot for someone that would use this lack of information to kill mages.
Sylvan is another example, why should they care what if you know they are wardens or not ? Masters, on the other hand, are proud of there skills and belive, in general, that they are better than other mages and would very much like to flunter that.
The titles are roleplay tools, not a tool to make life easy.
