Life isn't fair and of course variations exist in the way the cookie crumbles and things fall, but the great gap between the couple of examples you've given is hilarious...i do hope there was great extenuating circumstances for these...(camping outside and just super slaying a dawnie is stupid/funny...why is the dawnie there and it's ooc not cool for the lame sylvan if they do it repeatedly)
