> Hi, I've been playing for 2-3 days now (not long)... From my experience, correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't found any information about "quests" Most, especially the immortals who run the MUD want it this way for a couple of reasons. (every rpg has quests, don't CF have some?) There are so many on CF that it would astound you. or how/why going to other cities. Mostly this just takes common sense, there have to be roads for trading right? Thereby follow the roads around. About places to hunt neither. This is a little more difficult. There are two good ways to do this IMHO, get a good client with a logging command and log whenever you play. Afterwards look back at the logs and see where you went and what you did. When you next log on, follow that path and look around. The Second way is to get to hero as fast as you can and then explore around(getting items from around the area and lore or identify to find the approximate level of the enemies as well as use the 'area' command and look for the area. After an hour of play, some people asked me to join their group, I joined, but I lvled so fast I couldn't keep up with the information/per lvl I should have, so I'm now lvl 10 and never went to any city else than New Thalos... Heh, I know that feeling, my first character was an elf paladin(bad bad idea for a first character). You have two options, stick it out and learn as much as you can with this character. Or two scrap the character and try it again, this time taking your time when you need to. I've lvled up in the forest of nowhere, but I can't go there alone because a. I'll get killed and Since you are level 10, you cannot be pked and only a little of the battlefield(which is in a remote corner of the past) is hostile towards you so you should be safe b. I don't even know how to get there... Follow the directions of the person who posted below, except that the ranger guild is now to the NW of galadon. When I FOLLOW someone, I just can't keep up reading where we're going so see how to comeback or to go there again... The 'brief' command can come in handy now and then, but only when following someone. So right now, I think I'm gonna go to the goblin city, hope I won't get lost, don't have recalls anymore... Buying a potion of return can help > Any suggestion/ways to tell me what I did wrong/ how I can fix it. :-) ? > Hope I helped some, Good hunting.
We were all there at one time, welcome.
> I like the game, but the only thing I don't like is the lack of help from players,
If you dont ask, none will help
If you do ask, some will help
If you group with others, they will usually help
If you join a cabal, they will almost always help(Empire being the exception to the rule)
A)So that it gives newcomers like yourself a chance of something still to be a mystery(I personally like mysteries)
B)Most quests give some type of reward and most of these things are really nice. If everyone knew about them then the rewards would become too common and thus be not that great anymore.
To paraphrase Nepenthe(because I could not seem to find the quote) There are quests on CF that NOBODY has yet solved.
