In Reply to: Thank you for illustrating my point. You'd have received a lot of interaction to ask this *in game* since people's thoughts differ so. (NT) posted by Strelno on November 26, 2000 at 12:06:55:
My criticism isn't with individual Master's reasons for being against nature. I'm sure people have come up with all sorts of creative reasons to do so. My criticism is that this belief is *mandated* in the help file for the cabal. It just seems "tacked on" at the end, and doesn't seem to follow from the rest of the description. So in order to play a Master, I have to *make up* a rationale for why I think nature is bad. Since my character doesn't believe that, the Tower is off limits. IMHO, the other cabals' "enemies" seem much more reasonable. Entropy/Arbiters - this makes sense because the two have conflicting goals. One wants to do anything they want, the other limits what people can do. Ragers/Masters - given the Ragers' delusional belief that all magic is bad, their hatred of the Tower makes perfect sense. Sylvan/Empire - again, makes some sense. Empire wants to "civilize" the whole world, which would obviously be bad for the forests. I could even see Scarabs hating Dawnies, though not the reverse. Servents help the weak, which would be construed by a Scarabite to be promoting weakness. Incidentally, I think I've figured out the most hunted race/class/cabal combo. Drow
