> Since I've been in your position most recently, I'll try to relate how I got about. First of all, the map of galadon is very helpful. Second of all, don't use it, because you're a ranger and cities arn't good for rangers. Next..there are roads everywhere here, and while they're all long as hell, they tend to go places. Walk around on them a bit. When you're grouped, roleplay, don't just be the average joe. Talk about you're home that you miss, the love you left behind, whatever. If your groupmates are decent players, and a lot are, they'll be a lot more receptive to talking. You can learn a lot from your group. When you go somewhere to rank, ask them to walk you through the path. After a couple times to the same place, ask to lead, but first ask if it's a safe place. Explore when you can't find a group, but stay toward the mainstream areas because the exp penalty for death is huge here, at least to me. Since your a ranger, master camouflage and figure out where you can use it. When that big bad mob is tracking you, you'll be glad you did. While I'm sure a lot of Sylvans are frustrated that I'm in the cable (and I do understand) being in a cable is very useful for learning things. Kordare has taught me a lot about what I need to know *bow Kordare*. Being in a cable means being exposed to a lot of pk, and the only way to get better at pk is to get experience with it. Being in a cable also means you have someone to fall back on a lot of the time. If...I mean when you are pk'd, don't ask for spares, ask people if they'll help you find some armor. Learning how to reequip yourself is essential, and not that hard on CF due to the profusion of unlimited eq.

> It seems to me that a ranger is a good starting class here, no need to give up so soon. And good luck!
