> I have seen on other MUDS a thing called E.P.'s which are different from the standard experience gained from killing mobs. E.P.'s (Exploration points) are assigned to an area. The harder the area, the more E.P.'s per room you first walk into. Remember, only the first time you walk in.
> Also, my own idea is this...have places that are highly RP oriented--Such as the Inn of the Eternal Star, Cabal HQ's, Shrines, and even Guilds in particular places (Like an A-P guild in Udgaard, I mean come on, that's the root of all evil ;p)--give experience for merely being present in them. But only a certain amount per level. I think this would be feasable especially for mages who, in theory, train at their guilds. So being in such a 'mystical' environment would definitely rub off on them. Same for warriors, and well, everything else. I think thieves should get experience for stealing. The more valuable the item stolen, the more experience gained. Conjurers should get experience for successful summonings (just to be fair), and let's say that assassins get some nice experience for assassinateing someone. A-P's for souls put into their sword, necros for zombies and so on and so forth. This, in my opinion would take some of the need for the 'hardcore ranking' mindset which everyone in CF (come on, admit it) has been forced into at least every now and again. Think about it. A trannie that has been sitting in his guild for a damned week trying to find a group ( I know, I've been there) should have learned something just from being in his guild. Of course I think this kind of experience gain should be stopped before the Upper levels, as it wouldn't make sense for a fully trained mage to Hero by sitting in his guild =p.
