Some cabals do things differently than the other cabals. Obviously the rites are a different form of leader choosing than what occurs in the Empire or in Master. I've had a number of Servants, never long enough to even think about becoming a leader, and I can tell you that the way Apostles are chosen is also fairly different than in rest of the cabals as well. Becoming an Apostle isn't necessarily about your leadership style, it's about being steadfast in your beliefs and being unique in your own little way. In other words, it's mainly about your role and roleplay. You don't need any qualifications as far as pkilling, interviewing, and so on goes, you just need to be clear in your beliefs and make an effort to allow others to see your ways. You need to bring SOMETHING to the table and the best thing to bring is usually a desire to clarify and shore up the goals of the Dawn and the tactics for doing so. Having read over Laurieola's role what I see is not the failure of Servants, but the failure of Apostles(of which, ironically, Chaldaie was one), but that's another thread.

There are several people that need to learn how to get things done in CF. In some cases becoming a leader is as simple as expressing the desire to do so and not being an idiot(Empire), while in others it's entirely about your role, attitude, etc.(Dawn, Troupe), in others it's about your ability to get things done effectively, while strictly embracing the tenets of the cabal, and painting yourself as a true leader(Master, Arbiter). If you try to use one style in a different cabal, Empire's style in Dawn or Troupe for example, you'll come across as pushy and not fit for the job.
