1) This is true for any cabal: If you can't find the "leader", seek out the members, or the IMMs. There are always alternate routes along the path to induction, and he's the Flame, not the Voice. In any event, there was no time in the year 2000 where the Temple had more than one Elder appointed (and there was often zero). Be forewarned that you will have to work with what it there- Elder appointments are rare, and reserved for those who put a lot of effort into the cabal. 2) Scarab is not only the most difficult cabal to enter, but it is the most difficult cabal to stay a part of. You will have a LOT of enemies (Maran, Dawn, Arbiter, Empire, most Sylvans, Ehren, as well as various others by virtue of alignment or class). I mean this in the best possible way: If you are asking these sorts of questions, you are very likely going to have big problems with the Scarab cabal. It's a great deal of fun, but it has a masochistic side to it as well. If you are really into it, by all means go for it, but expect a challenge beyond what the other cabals will offer. 3) Despite what "Helpless Baby" and others say, I think you'll find that the vast majority of Scarabs are excellent roleplayers, as that is a large part of the initial screening process. They're not "nice", but they are interesting. 4) There is a lot of information on the Forum about the Cult, as well as Sacer's website, and in the Lyceum, among other places. Make sure you know your stuff before approaching the Cult. They aren't big on being "helpful", nor should they be. > So, I know I need to find the mortal elders (Flame, Eye and Voice). But there is only a Flame and our playing times do not overlap. Should I go to either of the relevant shrines, speak to another Cultist (not to say I've seen another)? Any help appreciated.
