This is a helpfile you can read when you get to 51 and I think you can get off the official CF page (which is why I'm posting it here). I would strongly, strongly recommend not trying to immort your first hero. In addition to what's mentioned below...you don't lose experience anymore from mob deaths (so exploration is a little less risky). Heroes:
You have reached the pinnicale of mortality. You have a big decision to make.
Three options lie open to you at this point. (1) You can delete. Or you can
do something stupid and let us do it for you. (2) You can stay mortal. You
will be the same as a level 50, just one level more, and eventually die of old
age. If you decide at a later time to immort, it will be harder to convince
the higher gods the longer you sit at 51st level. (3) You can seek to become
an immortal. If you are accepted as an immortal, you will need to follow
all the rules of 'help commandments', and the imotd. Your job is to help out
newbies with general information, to get them aquainted with how the mud
works, but you should not group, nor aid any mortals with specific information,
equipment, spells or in killing creatures. Note that only immortal heroes are
required to do these things; mortal heroes, including those who have made
their desire to ascend known to the immortals but have not actually
immorted, may continue on as they always have.
