I think what he's saying is that you're almost certainly looking at the last straw that happened to break the camel's back. For example you do something stupid and against imperial law, and an empire immortal checks your history to see that you have in fact done 6 things against imperial law and maybe a few against roleplay law (like you've logged on, seen a lot of enemies, and logged immediatly off several times too). At this point they're just waiting for you to sneeze to give you the boot (empire roleplay and logical given your history).

Now, what you're saying is why didn't they give you warnings those 6 times before. Well...that would be breaking character, imho. Especially in an Empire situation. I'm in a hurry, so I'm not going to walk through why it's ooc for an imperial immortal to warn you. If you really don't understand that ask for a clarification and I'm sure someone will explain it to you. Although not as obvious, I think it would be a break of character for a lot of the gods to come down and give you a verbal warning without consequences.

You can argue that it's worth the partial break of character to help save your mortal butt who is pouring hours into the char. Maybe that's a valid argument, but it's certainly not one everyone agrees with. I sure don't. I want my gods to act like gods. I want people to screw up. There's something to be said for a volatile environment where your character's life doesn't go as planned. What's the fun of sitting down pre-creation and planning out your char's life from start to finish...why even roll it then? Getting kicked out of a cabal shouldn't mean deletion. I'm sure there are handfuls of people who have really enjoyed playing a character after being kicked out of a cabal. I know my favorite character ever got kicked out of one and then had to quest and roleplay back to get into favor.
