If you want to focus on staying alive and being able to hide then scout is good BUT you will miss deathblow... alot... it is better than critical hit in 95% of cases. Ive played an assassin (Frrthistz) and a ranger (Oblanaider) as scouts. I would have had more pk kills for both if I had been a berserker (deathblow makes for quicker fights and there are nearly always more useful skills to be using than critical hit), but it was against my role... but I would have died more as well. hope thats of some help.
