first off like you say jullias rolling doesn't create lag, unless of course there are a million people all rolling at the same time. On this note I do not see whats wrong with people useing stat rollers. Yes the rolling process creates variety but come on almost nobody will take bad stats. It has come down to it because without good stats you just can't survive anymore because you will get killed. If you finally do some things to breakup useing rollers then people will just sit there for hours wasting time they could be playing by typing n, n, n,n ,n ,n n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,n,
well you see the point. My sugestion is to add a comand at stat rolling which will give you near perfect stats(though not perfect) and only give you one roll.
for instance make the command "_"
instead of rolling 6 stats between 7 and 18 roll 5 stats between 15 and 18 and the primary stat between 16 and 18 or 19 or whatever. This saves everyone timeand still makes it not easy to get perfect stats. also note that it also includes randomality.
also on the note about perfecting skills. make it easier you say you encourage role-playing but it is difficult to rp if you are always running from someone. Those people who have the patience and the HOURs to master 1 or 2 skills end up taking away from the overall fun of the rp. make it easier to master skills so instead of taking 4 or 5 hours to master parry it only takes 1 on average i mean. that is still a lot of time and really i feel you should be able to master all your defenses in an hour and possibly a weapon but thats just me. I feel more like actualy playing then having to sit and do the same action over and over and over again until i am ready to delete then finally play for a short time and decide i need to start all over again with another char.
well this note i think lost some of its coherency like all of mine do but i hope it gives you some ideas and i would love to hear some feedback on it
