Both series are a good set of books. I just got Winter's Heart (book 9 in WoT) for christmas and I'm enjoying it. While they are long, there is lots to soak up. He elaborates on lots of things, which I find makes it more interesting. But honestly, book 2, 3 or 4, not sure, one of them was really bad. But other than that I've enjoyed all of them quite alot.

Oh, and Imbrogno...my friend read them like you. Skipped chapters where it looked boring, and he thought it wasn't that great of a series. But then he actually sat down and read a few...and he said "wow...this is actually pretty good". And I can bet you do have a short attention span. If you read books by skipping chapters, and always delete your marans because you get tired of waiting for shokai to tattoo you. =0P

In conclusion, WoT is a good series, if you have the time. It takes time to appreciate it fully, and its not meant for a quick read. It is supposed to be a long series.
