Simple.
Put down Wheel of Time and pick up The Hobbit.
The Hobbit is a definitive self-contained fantasy that
truly fuels the love of reading and story. You may
never read The Lord of the Rings, or the Simillarion,
but (and this is a pathetic drunk's sayso) the gift you
give yourself in reading The Hobbit cannot be matched
by anything Jordan has written.

When you're done with The Hobbit, and if it moves you,
continue on with Tolkien. If you don't enjoy it, try
Jordan.
