That bill which would provide affordable healthcare to everyone is also up for vote in California. The fact of the matter is that by the federal government taking in so much of the money and dictating how much gets sent back to the states and for what purpose, ultimately they are just a middle man holding back these sorts of things. If things like affordable healthcare and social policies like that are really your goal, the best way for it to happen is to give it back to the states where people of like mind are often located. Making it go through a heterogenous federal process just siphons money out into red tape and denies the people their ability to self govern. It stands in the way of both progressive ideas and conservative ones. The end result is some gray blend that doesn't help anyone and just wastes money.

Ron Paul is the opposite of extreme.

Death_Claw 495 October 26, 2007 04:15AM

Bear in mind a few facts in case you don't know them...

Death_Claw 524 October 26, 2007 04:17AM

I can understand that. I wouldn't trust people in the south to know what's best

DurNominator 468 October 26, 2007 08:06AM

For some 'not extreme decisions' it sure sounds like a lot of harsh results ~

Yhorian 493 October 26, 2007 04:33AM

Give me an example.

Death_Claw 509 October 26, 2007 04:39AM

Furthermore.

"Hey, lets remove our Tax infrastructure. And let States reorganise it."

Yhorian 484 October 26, 2007 05:23AM

Fair Tax. n/t

That's not what he supports, fyi. txt

Isildur 486 October 26, 2007 06:36AM

I'd rather have the States deal with it.

Death_Claw 546 October 26, 2007 06:43AM

I think withdrawing from UN and NATO is a bit extreme move.

DurNominator 533 October 26, 2007 08:17AM

Exactly what do we do in NATO that the rest of the globe applauds?

Death_Claw 475 October 26, 2007 08:22AM

Heh. Rest of the Globe doesn't applaud to much USA does.

DurNominator 494 October 26, 2007 08:41AM

His promises realistic.

Death_Claw 523 October 26, 2007 08:42AM

They are realistic, but I doubt that he will find support for all of them. nt

DurNominator 486 October 26, 2007 08:48AM

Makes more sense. Thanks. nt

Yhorian 511 October 26, 2007 08:52AM

Cognitive dissonance will ultimately overrule reason.

Death_Claw 547 October 26, 2007 04:11AM

Do you even know what the phrase 'Cognitive Dissonance' means? ~

Chalupah 491 October 26, 2007 05:45AM

Yes. Do you? n/t

Death_Claw 494 October 26, 2007 06:39AM

Did you read what Scrimbul posted? I don't see the connection. ~

Chalupah 515 October 26, 2007 06:42AM

Your cognitive dissonance in effect ;).

Death_Claw 536 October 26, 2007 06:44AM

So you are saying, REASON is the underdog, so just let it lose? ~

Chalupah 502 October 26, 2007 07:05AM

I'm merely explaining my pessimism. n/t

Death_Claw 518 October 26, 2007 07:27AM

I've got something you can subtly touch, baby. nt
