> If Death_Claw wanted to call you a fucking retard, he would have called you a fucking retard straight up, not implied it to be cute.

The post I was responding to wasn't even addressed at me.

> Because that's about all I can get out of you twisting what all he was saying. He didn't imply shit. 'In fact' is just a term that, in the plain American English is similar to 'And so' 'To sum up' 'In other words', etc. Considering that most non-Americans on these boards know the syntax of the words 'In fact' I'm not sure how far the gap has widened between the two halves of your brain for you to misconstrue it differently. It says alot about the size and IQ.
>

I'm not responding to any one clause, I'm responding to the entire sentence.

But, just to play along, "In Fact", does not mean the same thing as those other expressions, even though you may use them synonymously and incorrectly.

There is a certain little part of your brain, down a little bit deeper in everyone's head, that pays attention to the ACTUAL WORDS being used.

This is the basis for an entire field in psychology known as NLP (Neuro-Linguistic-Programming).

Saying something which sounds innocent, but actually means (through implication) something significantly more profound, is a real tactic; I'm calling him out on it, because I don't think he's actually aware of what he's doing. He's mimicking a sort of style that's become popular from the right wing.

> Just because he thinks that it's possible that the current system tries to teach far too much and/or far too complex sciences that could be better left to the college level (God knows I got way too much of it outside of college myself even while homeschooled) doesn't mean he thinks you should be ignorant of E=mc^2 in favor of how to cook the pie in my kitchen or how to be a star athelete with no productive value to R&D, only to GDP. I'll leave it to you to figure out what *those* acronyms mean.
>

This is how it works - by saying something without a lot of detail, you can interpret what he said in a manner that makes him seem completely rational, after the fact.

And hi, I also know about economics.

> In short, lighten the fuck up. He's not a politician or a spin doctor.

He's talking like one, and I'm curious to see if he's doing it consciously.
