I'm no pro but i'm not bad either. PK chasing essentials.

1) Know your prey. Rager? He's running so you better have the movement or refreshers to catch him, be it pills/healers/etc. If it's got a word or teleport spell as spell or commune, you better move quick or they are gone. Other than that, your chances are better. Most people run to 'safety' when threatened. This can be their cabal, hometown, or an area a bit away they think nobody will check.

2) Put yourself in their shoes. Think like they would. You're scared and someone is on your ass and you have less than 20% hp. Where would you go? They likely will go there too.

3) IMPORTANT!: Know the steps. Don't memorize everything but know the essentials. How many paces north from the north gate till you hit crossroads. How many steps to the inn from Voralia. Knowning little things like s e e e e s on the eastern catches you up to people quickly. Which brings me to my last point.

4) Don't waste commands! Check areas with a step in, a where, and a step out. You can always re-enter the area if they show up on where. But standing there is a waste of a good second. Type where appropriately. If they are in a place like a city where you can track their movements by room name, hit it a bit more often. If they are on the generic eastern road, know what rooms are where on the eastern and don't spend too much time checking for it. Just keep moving because they'll likely stutter step before you do.

5) Practice! PK as hard and as often as you can. Chasing like a vet means being a vet. You only get good through experience and knowledge.

All the better vets can add to this list/modify. Just a few off the top of my head. Good luck!
