There seems to be a void without Scion since I've been back playing in terms of cabal dynamics. Even if they weren't strong in numbers, having a non-Empire evil entity really did make things more interesting than they feel right now. I wasn't around when it was taken out, so I assume it must have been pretty dead. Unfortunately I don't think Scarab fills that gab, and have really only seen Jeede active and by nature the cabal seems to fly under the radar.

This game can be simply amazing and addictive to play, if only we could bump up our numbers a little. People in general seem a bit more reticent to play/log-in when they're not in power, maybe it's always been like that but if people stuck it out in the tough times (embrace the suffering!) it would be a more fun hero range than the current pendulum swings. There are a few characters at hero range that will probably never have played a minute without their cabal item. It also seems like there is way less looting than I ever remembered, which really should encourage players to take more risks. I always found most of the fun to be in trying to regain your item, taking risks, getting your shiny set a bit dirty.
