I'm quite literally learning the game. All over again is a point of contention, as I never did know the game on a competitive level.
I'm having fun, and I don't know anyone. Granted it would be more fun if I knew some people, or if there were always 30+ players on, but quitting is the only way to make sure that doesn't happen.
Lots of people are complaining, but after a couple months of observation I feel that most of them would be doing so no matter the circumstance. Even so, there are some legitimate complaints, but blowing them out of proportion and being adversarial drastically lower the odds of the staff taking them seriously.
If you loved the game when you played before, then play. There is a certain freshness that goes with anonymity that I've been enjoying so far. I'm fairly certain that no one realizes that my characters are played by the same person, and that allows for some genuine interactions.
That said, in CF terms, I'm a nobody, basically PK fodder to the extreme, but I still have fun with it.
Keep your expectations tempered and there is still lots of fun to be had.
I'm personally looking forward to when the current HeroIMMs finish their projects and start up their religions.
