Who exactly will that greeting be helping you with? Greeting is great for when you are in the rites of war, fighting other villagers, but generally speaking it's not a great fit for villagers. All mages but aps get bash protection, so your primary targets are generally immune. Same for the healers and shamans and druids. Even then, ok, maybe, but you'll be a duerg, without access to enlarge or reduce. Your empire enemies will make your greeting virtually useless for the most part, even if they are non-mage, non-priest.

Not totally useless, particularly in the defensive side of it when you are the one being bashed, but not a good pick for duerg defender villager.
