In my opinion, throw with master of nage waza isn't the win button people are making it out to be.
If you've debilitated an opponent with kot/kans to the point where you just need to lag him out in order to win, then edged-up throw is a great option. By that point, though, you could also use double spin kick or rising phoenix kick without too much drop-off in terms of win%.
I think people also use it in lower-level situations against characters they don't even need to maledict in order to win against. So just "trip;throw;throw;throw". In that case, the edge's utility hinges on the extent to which it allows the assassin to achieve total command denial. My *sense* is that even with the edge it's still very unlikely to achieve total command denial.
