Crazy Idea for increasing interest and playerbase

December 08, 2017 07:38PM
Let me set this up...

1. Someone mentioned that new things on the game will keep people interested and (hopefully) draw new people in. Although in fairness someone said new isn't necessarily better.

2. I mentioned and a few people who frequently post good stuff on here mentioned that they have been denied the heroimm. No one has said why. But I feel like those people probably have the same interest in myself in seeing CF be better and increase playerbase somehow.

3. Someone else said we have 2 imms that can code? And other imms would need free time to learn and practice (I would assume), watch their cabals, and make sure none of us are misbehaving.

I suggest this...

Starting on seniority of time played (or hell alphabetical last name) what if people were given the opportunity to either design a new area or revamp a current one? This would rotate through everyone who wants to participate. It could go live for two months then disappear. So let's say I am allowed to put together an area and it runs Jan Feb. Then Learrist does one Mar April. Then Shaapa does one May June..

What does this do? Well, it lets those of us who want to help out do so. It adds a new area to the game temporarily for two months. So people will hopefully be geeked up to check it out. It makes vets excited about contributing or exploring. It frees the current imms to do what they want to do if that is NOT area design. That could be immteraction, running a cabal, running contests, learning to code. Hell, maybe one of them wants to have a date night with a spouse. The possibilities are endless!

What if there are a bunch of us who want to do it or this takes off like a rocket? Great questions. The answer is go two at a time but staggered. It will look like this.

Me Jan Feb
Learrist Feb March
Shaapa March April
Matrik April May

And so on. A new area to check out every month? A dozen of us getting to help out our game? Come on now. This idea is GENIUS.

Would this draw in players? Would players come back for this? Would the itch to roll something and explore (or murder people exploring new places) be there? What do you guys think?

Crazy Idea for increasing interest and playerbase

I'd re-craft some of my old areas from memory quite happily to support CF. (n/t)

The Faithful of Nazmorghul December 27, 2017 03:10AM

Well, I found this...

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid December 13, 2017 03:00PM

Hey bub! Where ya been?! :) (n/t)

Frosty December 13, 2017 03:49PM

Got married, got divorced, moved, got married again, changed jobs...

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid December 13, 2017 05:48PM

Damn, life's a bitch sometimes. Keep your head up man. Best of luck to ya. ;) (n/t)

Frosty December 13, 2017 06:03PM

Nah, it hasn't been as bad as it seems at first.

(vಠ_ಠ)> AngryFatKid December 13, 2017 06:07PM

Well, you're not going to find it here. ;) (n/t)

saagkri December 13, 2017 08:23PM

Of the many things I could be convinced to write for CF, an area is not on that list... (n/t)

laearrist December 10, 2017 03:52AM

Noone needs new areas

Kstatida December 09, 2017 08:44PM

Imho we have plenty of areas

Tadam December 08, 2017 10:43PM

I think we all agree...

ellokraine December 09, 2017 06:13PM

A demonstration of why "New is not necessary Better"

frob December 09, 2017 11:13AM

I know this is a bit tardy, but welcome to CF, Frob! (n/t)

DurNominator December 23, 2017 11:23AM

Vets are more likely that newbies to keep playing CF.

saagkri December 09, 2017 12:34PM

Vets have limited numbers

DurNominator December 23, 2017 11:13AM

I wonder on what you base your analysis.

frob December 09, 2017 04:04PM

Re: I wonder on what you base your analysis.

saagkri December 09, 2017 04:31PM

Here's the deal

Dalbrin December 10, 2017 11:21AM

I don't know if you've played many shifters...

saagkri December 10, 2017 01:13PM

I've played more shifters then anything.

Dalbrin December 10, 2017 01:34PM

Ditto

PacMan December 10, 2017 01:53PM

Agree with the no cost spin/roll, but...

saagkri December 10, 2017 03:06PM

Free I think would be too much. Halving the edge costs for them makes sense to me. (n/t)

Frosty December 10, 2017 05:10PM

Too much? Heaven forbid you get to hero and spin a second crappy form and have enough EPs for muscle memory and calmed mind. You're right, that's overpowered. (n/t)

saagkri December 10, 2017 07:35PM

Can you only take it once? nt

MiyagiYojimbo December 10, 2017 08:42PM

Yes. And, I like the picture. Wait, I'm the leaf? Why?! (n/t)

saagkri December 10, 2017 08:48PM

Re: Yes. And, I like the picture. Wait, I'm the leaf? Why?!

MiyagiYojimbo December 10, 2017 09:15PM

Oh, nice. :) (n/t)

saagkri December 11, 2017 03:45PM

Cry a little more. (n/t)

Frosty December 10, 2017 08:01PM

YOU cry a little more. Anyway, I agreed with you. It's overpowered. Didn't you see that? (n/t)

saagkri December 10, 2017 08:16PM

Nononono that "I was being sarcastic but I wasn't being sarcstic" bullshit doesn't work on me.

Frosty December 10, 2017 08:52PM

You're too quick for me. Clearly I'm out of my league. (n/t)

saagkri December 10, 2017 11:05PM

They should put in some no cap goodness for other alignments too.

MiyagiYojimbo December 10, 2017 11:36AM

Re: I wonder on what you base your analysis.

PacMan December 10, 2017 11:07AM

Anyway, why would someone play fewer than three? That's how you max EXP when you're ranking them together. (n/t)

saagkri December 10, 2017 07:38PM

You can't prove that. (n/t)

saagkri December 10, 2017 01:07PM

I've got good new on one of those items... If you log, contact me!

laearrist December 10, 2017 03:40AM

What's the purpose of you being a stupid fuck?

MiyagiYojimbo December 09, 2017 12:00PM

Access denied.

frob December 09, 2017 02:33PM

LET ME IN!

MiyagiYojimbo December 09, 2017 05:50PM

Re: LET ME IN!

frob December 10, 2017 06:45AM

:( Sawwry

MiyagiYojimbo December 10, 2017 09:49AM

Re: :( Sawwry

frob December 10, 2017 10:24AM

Agreed. We need older players. Not newer. Fuck kids. (n/t)

Matrik December 09, 2017 12:52PM

I never pictured you to be the "throw in the towel" type (n/t)

PacMan December 08, 2017 11:05PM

I personally don't, but that's a relatively small pool (n/t)

Tadam December 09, 2017 12:38PM

It’ll never work.
