I agree with this, though marginal skills can be really fun. I would not forego cheapshot like you said.

I do remember, as Gergan or Heaghul, jacking Thurmonbrue (sp) before he entered the scarab temple, isolating him east away from his army of zombies, closing the door and deafening him with earclap. He died. It was wonderful. But like you said, those moments are few and far between.
