Hello! Preemptive apology for the formatting, using my phone.
I am quite taken with the idea of exotic weapons (secret skills which only reveal themselves when wielding special weapons? That do cool stuff? Yes please!) And I am thinking of rolling an exotic warrior and would like some opinions on builds.
Below are my thoughts on some of the races pros and cons for their exotic uses. I have no idea what stats the exotic weapon skills are based on but a lot of them look like strength with discharge and project. All of the below is assumed as such. I would love some input!
Elves
Pros:
High int means low spam time on the exotic skills to get the secondary effects.
High dex for dodge
Assuming discharge and project are int based, good usage on those two.
Sneak
Good elf only gear
Cons:
Low str for other exotic skills
Low con
Metal weakness
High xp penalty
Giants
Pros:
Resist physical
High str for exotic skills and dam roll
Higher con, high con if fire
No weaknesses if storm
Cons:
Low dex for defenses
Low int for learning exotic skills slash project and discharge maybe
High xp penalty (could also be a plus, gives more time to learn skills with your low int)
Arial
Pros:
Highest dex for defenses
Permaflight
Decent int overall
Cons:
Invokers
Lowish str
Lowish con
These were the three I was thinking of although I would love other opinions!
Elf would likely be either dagger/hand or sword/hand (maybe even spear/hand)
Giant would probably be polearm/hand. I could see an arguement for whip getting in the mix though. Whip/hand or even whip/polearm (I do love polearm but whip/polearm is probably overkill. Polearm to start, whip to entwine and then BAM exotic beatdown)
Arial sword/hand?
The reason there is so much hand above is it's a fallback for giants (stun and if weapon gets disarmed) and I worry about carry weight on the arial and elves from having weapons for three different weapon sets. So many weapons being carried.
As I said, I would love to hear your thoughts, opinions and corrections to my assumptions!
