Don't play.
I'll let the comments in this thread illustrate my point. The only people left are toxic brown-nosers who have devoted half their fucking lives to this game. The immstaff / impstaff hasn't maintained or modified the code in over a decade. The (very) active immstaf / impstaff mostly concerns itself with micromanaging and rewarding suckups while punishing dissent. The "game" itself is largely based on grinding, playing the imbalanced meta class (high dex classes for over a decade now) and knowing where secret keywords are in rooms. As far as strategy, there are better games out there. For players, there are WAY more social players in other games. If you wanna learn where the secret keywords in the secret rooms are you either need to cheat (hop onto Discord for help cheating), or spend 5 years like a full time job looking at every noun (and even nouns which don't exist) in every room. That's the magic of CF.
In Doom II, there was a map editor which allowed you to build maps. Sometimes you'd make a map and give it to your friends so that you could deathmatch on it. As 14 year old kids, we'd sometimes put in secret doors which would contain secret rooms full of plasma rifles, bfgs, ammo, and buffs that only we knew about. Thing is, that shit didn't make the map or game fun after a while. CF, on the other hand, has had these secret rooms used by only 1-2 individuals for 20 years.
CF is a lot like that. Over time the immortals have hidden secret shit in their areas, and a lot of the secret shit was made just for themselves to enjoy. They literally watch over their secret rooms full of super great gear and make sure only their friends get it. Then their friends use that secret gear to one-shot kill you. Fun! Maybe in 15 years of practice you too can be the friend of the immstaff and "win".
Move on.
