For starters you arent exactly wrong about some of the things you've mentioned in your post, your approach of course is terrible and the rest of the base has done a pretty good job already pointing that out. I want to talk about why I still play this imperfect and frustrating game.
First of all.. I no longer play cf for what It should be. That war has been lost, what CF was or should be will never materialize again. There just isnt enough momentum or engaged admin team to make any sweeping changes to the game. The tone at the top is one of an absentee manager and as they say when the cat's away the mice will play. You just have to not let the mice detract you from what you want to accomplish in game.
I mostly play cf because its a habit, probably a bad one at that. My point is that I'm not playing cf for joy or meaning, I have my family/career/friends for that. I play cf for when I have nothing else to do and set goals for it accordingly. My chars now are generally 0 investment, I don't care if I don't get a leader spot, I don't care if I don't get a tattoo, I don't care if I don't get 1500 IMM xp add so I can edge my characters to the gills. Mostly now I play counter builds, I'll see a badass well rewarded char in game and I'll roll something to counter them. I get my kicks from defeating characters that have the deck stacked in their favor.
Play for what it is.. a monumental waste of time.
