By design, mere players of CF are simply there to serve as entertainment for the immstaff, and vets (who are essentially one and the same). Are things being rebalanced? Oh, that's an implementor like Twist or Daevryn who is interested in playing a certain build and dominating. (Plenty of evidence). Is there some uber secret buried in an area? Again, that's an imm who hid an easter egg for themselves. Did you discover that secret? Oh no, you uppity peasant! The secret will be moved, or you will be personally singled out and punished.
Unless you're part of the Imp-squad, this game isn't going to be fun for you. This is a game for the imps, suckups, and mentally insane people (but I repeat myself) who invest 20 years.
This is the unpopular truth of Carrionfields. All of the people in charge of the game depend on a steady stream of newbies to be fodder / entertainment for... themselves. The pantheon system, the pk system, the exploration system, everything is built around making a couple of nerds feeling good and powerful about themselves.
Want to play? Expect to lose. You are meant to die to their morts. By design you are meant to have a character with an underpowered build (because you don't have access to code), without edges (because you weren't supposed to have access to the exploration points files), with shitty gear (because it all flows to the top echelon of players), without shield / aura / protection / resist elements / stoneskin / haste (becaues you were never meant to know where preps were hidden.. and it all flows to the top echelon of players), you weren't meant to have the good cabal skills (only upper echelon and well connected players), oh and by the way immortal experience points leading to edges and entry to areas further compounds all of this.
So if you think you can beat someone who has better gear, better build, better edges, better cabal skills, and better preps... live the CF dream! Nothing like investing 40 hours into a character before you're even ready to fight! WOoooo
