You know how everyone treats highly successful pvp characters like they're terribly skilled? Take Poisoner thieves for example. I think eveyrone can agree that poisoner thieves are a pretty shitty class to play. Until about level 35 you've got shitty and expensive skills to grind out that accomplish nothing at all.
Until someone figures out the 1 detail that the immstaff doesn't want you to figure out.... There's a single poisoner prep ingredient hidden inside of the Twilight Mansion which makes poisons operate +25 levels higher than your character level. Lets think about the chances of anyone stumbling on a well-hidden item in the 10000s of rooms of CF which the entire poisoner class depends upon. So instead of attempting to save against a level 51 inhaled knockout poison, people are instead trying to save against a level 66 inhaled knockout poison, or a level 66 neurological poison, or a level 66 mind control poison. For reference, a comparable poisoner prep purchased from a guild store can cost 5 gold to achieve +2 levels. Scaling level to gold, the bone dust is worth 62.5 gold and can be retrieved with game knowledge by a level 1.
That's it folks. That's the entire secret of the poisoner class. A single item in the basement cellar of the twilight mansion called bone dust that a level 1 character could get if they knew all of the keywords to get to. Every single poisoner thief who tried to play the class without bone dust didn't actually suck. They just didn't know the entire class was based on one prep hidden deep inside of a wierd / useless area.
Want to know how many people know about it? (Immortals, their friends, and maybe 3-4 others). That's how the immortals balance CF. Bonedust is overpowered... but without it the class is 100% useless.
