1. Centrally located.
2. Tribunal HQ is there.
3. Has all guilds, including nearby ranger.
4. As others have noted, no closing gates like Hamsah.
5. If you walk out of the academy, it's where you land.
6. Can buy return, teleport and prot vs. alignment potions.
7. Easy access to Underdark.
8. Not alignment or race restricted.
9. Force of habit.
