So, yesterday I decided to try using a mobile app in conjunction with the telnet link from the officials, to see whether the game was playable with this tech.
A character contacted me when I was about a minute old, to suggest I took the blood oath. That's good. I think it's great that midbies look to involve lowbies.
However, I kept explaining that I was finding it difficult to talk or even think, and he kept on explaining why the blood oath was a good solution to this problem.
So I said on the newbie channel that, for the gut telling to me about the oath, I was using a mobile client and couldn't get it to work. He then newbies that I shouldn't say this on the channel and should keep it ic, because he was responding how his character would.
My point was I can't keep taking to your character since the sodding app doesn't let me. And my attempts to let you know to leave me be ic were being completely ignored by you. Even though you, the player, probably knew that I was trying to get you to stop talking to me while I sorted out an ooc issue. If you can't take the ic hint, and won't "permit" ooc clarification on the newbie channel, how the fuck so you expect me to deal with the issue?
As it was you drove me to delete delete, give up on spending the time to see if an app could enable me to play (since without the app I certainly can't), and you are one player the poorer again. And if that's how I feel, imagine how a true newcomer would feel.
