What does CF do with old areas?

When they replaced Tar Valon with Voralian did they keep Tar Valon or do they just ditch that code? What about areas written by other players? If the player has an issue with CF and decides to leave does CF get to keep their area (since it was written for CF) or do they have to delete the area?

There is no space to save them, the floppy disks are erased NT
