And nothing is ever changed from it from what I saw.
I've handheld more than a few people through area explore quests. I've had Imms show up while doing so. Never got punished or anything negative from it.
Because I thought that is the exact point of things like area explores and quests, to foster IC interaction between people.
I would hope nothing done in an IC fashion has led to changes.
Of course, you walk a player through, they log it, and post it, well, yeah, that is going to have bad outcomes.
The problem is when people learn things IC and disseminate them in OC manners. Be it outside of CF or actually in the game in blatant OC ways.
I honestly wonder though, if I played a herald bard, who chronicled my adventures and disseminated them in notes to all, sort of like Amaranthe's bard did the newspaper, how would Imms respond if I posted this (without the edits I made here to keep info everyone already knows secret)?
There I was, in the mythical ***** of the **** *****, when I noticed a word inscribed on a pedestal. But that seemed too obvious, and the traps elsewhere in these halls made me wary that this was likely no different, a trap for the unwary. However, before I could react, my idiot dwarven friend spoke the word aloud, and a ***** emerged out of thin air and lashed out at us in all its fury. After a prolonged battle, and a hilariously singed beard, it lay dead, and the ****** ** *** ***** lay at our feet for the taking. I adorned it immediately and my companion and I continued forward after restoring all our wounds, looking forward to unraveling more secrets of the place. We only made it a little further, with middling resistance when upon entering a room a **** *** ******** plunged his blade through my fully healthy friend's throat before he could react, slaying him instantly. I avenged him swiftly, but as I went forward down the hall, I found my body suddenly unresponsive and a ********** attacked me, assailing with me with a myriad array of strikes and spells. When I could move once more, I fled, only to be surrounded by a strange gas where I immediately *****.
And so on.
It's an IC story.
It conveys useful walkthrough info though.
